This intensive professional development program will be offered on the Vanderbilt campus from June 27 through July 1, 2010. Designed for professionals with a minimum of five years' experience in senior-level positions, the curriculum focuses on contextualizing academic and enrollment services within their internal and external environments. Institute faculty are nationally known, and bring expertise in such diverse areas as higher education history, governance, finance and economics, policy and politics, race and ethnic relations, fund raising, college student departure, college student success, student affairs, and the faculty.

Fellows will be provided with readings in advance of the institute; identify a challenge on their campus to explore and begin to develop a solution; engage in discussions with the faculty and other participants; and benefit from the opportunity to join a strong and growing institute alumni network, with access to information from future institutes.Participants will reconvene at AACRAO's 2011 annual meeting to discuss and evaluate the institutional challenge they have addressed as an outcome of the institute.
